Allison Argy-Burgess was born in Red Deer, Alberta and raised in St. Albert, Alberta. Argy-Burgess is an active visual artist and arts and cultural manager, whose watercolours and acrylics have been exhibited in Alberta and Ontario in public and commercial galleries, and held in private and institutional collections throughout Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Argy-Burgess' work depicts passionate, dreamlike images that explore her intrinsic vision of myth and metaphor. The intense, expressive use of colour infuses the work with a sense of vibrant, ethereal power. Her paintings present the everyday in a vivid and stylized manner, presenting a reality that is larger than life and challenges the viewer to look at the world around them with a new and fresh perspective.
